COURSE DESCRIPTION

Rockwell Software’s 6200 series programming software is a personal computer (PC) application that allows you to program, monitor, troubleshoot, and document your Allen-Bradley PLC-5 programmable controller systems. All of the features available for online and offline programming, database reporting, and use of the program utilities are covered with appropriate hands-on lab assignments.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Understand how the 6200 software’s built-in DOS utilities are used.
Review system addressing and I/O addressing as it applies to the 6200 software.
Document programs by attaching mnemonic descriptors, wire tag numbers and locations, comments, and maintenance notes to your PLC program.
Block and cut portions of your program; edit, name, and save these portions; recall them for future use in other programs.
Edit your programs using search and replace functions.
Create custom reference screens, save these screens, and then recall them.
Implement the search utility to find references and trace circuits.
Attach directly to the programmable controller to monitor and/or perform online programming, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Compare an archived program against the current running program to detect subtle changes (perhaps unauthorized changes) that may have occurred.
Use the system’s password and logging features to control access to your programs.
Explore the 6200 software’s system health and diagnostic features.
Print out documented programs and learn how to customize your documents.
Create and modify ladder logic using the 6200 software.
