July 5, 2001 - New Information

Hello Everyone. 

Well I have some new info. I now have the Win2K version of the PowerNow! utility. This utility was found by Michael Stone. The utility is for a HP n5430 (AMD Mobile Duron 850MHz). 

I tried to install the utility and during the install was presented with a message stating that this machine does not support PowerNow!. Big surprise there. Now the big problem is how do we make the FX210 support PowerNow!. My guess is that a bios upgrade is going to be necessary to support PowerNow!. However, I do not know how we are going get Sony to provide a bios update. 

The other alternative would be to figure out who made the Motherboard for the FX210 and FX215 notebooks and pursue an upgrade from them. I have not gotten adventurous enough yet to start opening my case up to go looking for manufacturer info. Anyone else opened their case up?
